Northeast Photography Exhibition

My one man exhibition at Northeast
Mississippi Community College is over.
Some 270 people signed the visitors
book. I am told by Terry Anderson, the head of the Art Department,
that this was the largest turnout ever in the small town of
Booneville and that about 3 people visit for every signee.
Attendance is some handicapped by the very limited hours (8AM to 3
PM) and no weekends. The comments, as expected, were amusing. In
addition to the expected accolades
3 individuals said the
photos were too expensive, one asked where the paintings were and
quite a few wrote in no comment after their names. As anyone who
has ever framed anything knows even mid-level framing is expensive
for what one receives. Most of the exhibit items were $80 or less
of which in almost all cases, 60% or more (for fancy frames) was
the frame. Those $100 or more were 75% or more frame.
